The Chennai Super Kings (CSK) had a deserved win over the Mumbai Indians (MI) in the 49th match of IPL 2023. The CSK vs MI match was HELD on Saturday, May 6. With this match, they had a win over MI for the first time at the MA Chidambaram Stadium since IPL 2010.
Earlier, Mumbai Indians was asked to bat first because Chennai Super Kings won the toss. MI just couldn’t get going in the match, losing their three wickets with only 14 runs scored. MI’s Nehal Wadhera although stood in the match with a fighting half-century but a target of 140 runs wasn’t really a challenge the hosts Chennai Super Kings. CSK worked to have a win in the CSK vs MI match with six wickets still in hand and even 14 balls left.

Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma has become the holder of the unwanted achievement of having the most ducks in the whole history of IPL. Rohit achieved this unwanted record during his 236th IPL match namely CSK vs MI.
The teams had their second battle against each other in IPL 2023. Previously it was CSK’s captain MS Dhoni who won the toss and he chose to bowl first in the match against the five-time IPL champions MI. CSK had beaten MI earlier in this season at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai.

Rohit had a draw with Sunil Narine, Dinesh Karthik and Mandeep Singh with 15 ducks each last time. This was in MI vs PBKS match. MI made two major changes before match with Chennai by taking in Tristan Stubbs and gave debut to Raghav Goyal. Tilak Varma missed out due to his injury whereas Kumar Kartikeya has withdrawn.

Matheesha Pathirana was simply good once again. He picked figures of 3/15 to e make sure that Mumbai Indians finish with a below-par target. He was just incredible with his accuracy and efficiency that the visitors couldn’t score a big target against CSK even in their death overs.
After picking up one of the wickets in the match he was seen having a unique celebration. It appeared to be a mixture of the one done by the ace footballer Cristiano Ronaldo and The Undertaker, a VWWE star.
The image of him having this celebration went viral everywhere. CSK fans are also amazed by him due to his ability to remain calm in the match. He can execute his plans even in pressure situation. He can even develop a next great limited overs bowler from his country Sri Lanka.
3. Ruturaj Gaikwad boosting CSK in the CSK vs MI match
Trying to Pick up some early wickets was eventually MI’s only chance to make their chase tricky for CSK. Whereas their bowlers proved to be expensive part in the powerplay once again. Arshad Khan, individually was almost poor with the ball. Ruturaj Gaikwad smashed Arshad Khan for a total of 20 runs in his very first over.
